The resurrection of Jesus from the dead opens the way for us to have a deeply personal relationship with Jesus. This relationship starts with us answering His call to “follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.”
Obeying His call to follow Him and become someone who helps others to come to know Him is just the beginning of the journey into discipleship.
When you accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour – and you can’t separate the two – you agreed to be His disciple; someone in training to become just like the Master.
Jesus came to “seek and save the lost” and He, in turn, sends us into our world to do the same thing – make disciples.
This is foundational in your relationship with Him. Yes, you may have prophetic dreams; flow in the supernatural gifts of a Word of Wisdom and a Word of Knowledge; have a tremendous prayer life; and be very holy in your life-style. But, if you are not building relationships with the lost and speaking to them about the resurrection of Jesus and what this means for them today – all is in vain.
Disciples are to go forth and make disciples. This is foundational in the life of every healthy, growing disciple. It must become a daily basic in our lives as well.
