Bless, Build, Bind!

The Church is about to move forward into a new season in North America. A season where things as they have been will no longer be; where we will move from a pastoral base of ministry to a prophetic base as seen and experienced in the early Church. This new season will see us listening more so as to receive direction, and even our daily agenda, from the Lord and not from the needs of the people. We will hear the voice of our God and simply obey what it is that He is saying to His Church. We will be directed prophetically, by revelation. Peter had a revelation of who the Lord was – that He was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus commended him that this understanding had not come from his own reasoning nor was it a result of discussion with others where they reached a consensus. It was a revelation straight from the heart of our heavenly Father.

Jesus told Peter that he was BLESSED. Blessed because of the revelation that he had received. Jesus’ whole public ministry to this point had been based on revelation. Numerous times He states plainly – “That which I hear the Father say” or “That which I see the Father do”. Now Peter has entered into this same realm of revelation. But, more importantly, this realm of revelation is based upon a relationship with the Father. Peter’s declaration was an indication of a deeper and more personal relationship with his heavenly Father.

The Church has been walking in a season where we have been BLESSED and where we have been blessing others. It is the work of the prophetic to bless people … to touch the heart of God and speak what we have had revealed to others who are not hearing due to current circumstances or can’t hear because they are not saved and so don’t have a relationship with God.

But the Lord is saying that it is time to move forward into a new season – that of BUILDING. The Church is feeling dissatisfied. Leaders are feeling a divine discontent. We don’t always know that is what we are feeling, but it is. There is a shift coming to the Church and her leaders.

“A new season is upon us,” says the Lord. “A season when you will build and not just bless. Many have wondered why they are feeling discontented in their spirits. Many have asked why things that used to work no longer appear to be working. Leaders have cried out to Me asking if they were really building anything of significance. It is not you – it is me! There is now a shift in the grace upon My Church so as to build what will be needed to receive and disciple those who will be shortly entering My Kingdom and the Church seeking more of Me.”

We will need to stay in touch with the Lord of the Church. We will need to become and remain intimate with Him so that we can know His heart at all times. He is the true Master Builder and so apostles, prophets and others in the five-fold ministry will need to be connected because so much will be new in this season of the Church. To lead we will certainly first need to follow.

I heard the Lord say that this will be a brief season. I do not know how “brief” is brief. But that we will need to move through this season fairly rapidly reaching a place where the Church will be released into new levels of authority. This new place of authority will see the Church truly BINDING those spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12) that have hindered her from accomplishing the “Father’s business” of seeking and saving the lost. A Church built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20) will be expected to move in a new dimension of spiritual authority – binding the work of the devil and loosing the power of the Kingdom – doing so with boldness, certainty, power and results. We will see open confrontation with the kingdom of darkness as we proclaim the life-giving gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessing – Building – Binding … a season of rapid change and growth.

All of this based upon that famous Scripture passage found in Matthew’s gospel

And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”  (Matthew 16:17-19)
