Truth Is Truth

Jesus came full of grace and truth and stated early in His ministry that He was the Way, the Truth and the Life. His words were truth and He lived a life based on total truth. There was no lie in Him. In fact, the Bible states that God cannot lie because He is truth and Jesus is God and thus truth. His words are still truth today.

Many today do not believe that Jesus’ words are truth or that He is the only source of truth. Many people believe He is one source of truth and that there are many others who were also the source of truth – like Mohammad, Buddha, Confucius, Stalin, and Lenin. The sad thing is that many who call themselves disciples of the Lord or born again Christians no longer believe that the Living Word (Jesus) and the Written Word (Bible) are true and thus even a direct source of truth. So, today we also see people who are rejecting a basic truth of the Christian faith.

The Bible states: He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.  He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,  who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.  (John 1:10-13)

So, even when He was born as a man and physically walked among us He was not accepted by those in the world or by some of those who claimed to be believers and followers of the one true God. The same is absolutely true today – even born again believers no longer base their lives on His words or the written Word, the Scriptures. They prefer to build their life on their own opinions, what their peers think, the current approach or philosophy popular in the world, the message of their music, or some television guru like Oprah.

It is time for true believers – true disciples – to return to the Truth and to live by the Truth. These Words that Jesus spoke are more than truth – they are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). These words are powerful and will do or accomplish what God wants them to accomplish in your life (Isaiah 55:11). These words are living and active and sharp – performing spiritual surgery in your inner most being (Hebrews 4:12).

However, for all this to be true and available in your life you need to first believe and even know deep in your heart that His Word is Truth and that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Only then will the Word form a firm foundation upon which to build your life.
