Back To The Basics – Back To Acts

I believe the Lord is taking His Church back to the basics. Then once we are back at the basics we can go back to Acts. We have been majoring on the minors and chasing the latest and the greatest – personality, revelation, ministry, gifting, church, or book. And often none of these things make us better followers of Jesus. And, as believers these things we chase after have not helped us to be a good witness for the Lord nor have they helped us to win the lost.

The Church is being taken back to the basics of the faith. Hebrews 6 lists the basic 6 doctrines of the early Church and stresses the need to move on to more mature things. Earlier, in Hebrews 5:12, the author had written that the believers needed milk as they were not yet ready for solid food. I believe the Lord is saying that this is true once again – in our time and in most churches. This would be backed up by the latest surveys taken by Gallup and the Barna Group as published (in part) in the March/April edition of Outreach magazine. Read more

Powerful Prophetic Prayer

Many years ago I spent a whole day drinking coffee at a Sambo’s restaurant and reading the Gospel according to John in one sitting. It was then, for the first time, that I noticed Jesus’ words – repeated frequently throughout the Gospel – when He states that He only does what He sees His Heavenly Father do and only speaks what He hears His Father speak. This insight about His ministry radically altered my ministry. And, it changed forever my concept of prayer. Read more

Go Forward

When Israel was leaving Egypt under the ministry of Moses they came to the Red Sea and camped. Shortly afterwards with the Red Sea in front of them, mountains on both sides, and Pharaoh with his army coming up from behind them they began to lose faith and worry. And, of course, they began to complain.

Moses speaks to them and tells them to “stand firm”. He is telling them to have faith in their God who has just, with a series of miracles, freed them from slavery in Egypt. He also tells them to “be still” which meant to have inner peace and not to worry or be anxious. This when they were likely experiencing great fear and total panic.

A New Emphasis on the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

I believe that the Lord is speaking to His Spirit-filled Church about focus. Our focus must be on the primary business of the Church which is to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). As this was the reason that Jesus came to earth it must then be the reason the Church is still on the earth. We have many programs and activities and, I believe, that the Lord is asking us to look at all of our many activities and programs and honestly appraise them in light of the task we are called to accomplish – the Great Commission as stated very clearly in Matthew 28:18-20.

A New Focus

I believe there is a dramatic change taking place in the Kingdom. This change is coming directly from the heart of the Father. It is being revealed to His Church in a number of ways. First, we have become aware that some of the activities we have been involved in have not been producing the fruit that we thought they would. A good example of this is Bill Hybels and Willow Creek’s admission that their programming and approach has not been producing mature, reproducing disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Read more

Sinking Faster and Faster into Darkness

As we approach a New Year it appears that the world is sinking faster and faster into darkness. The news of what is happening would allow a person to quickly assume that we are sliding into even darker darkness if that is really possible, and it is, it appears! And, the year-end news summaries verifies that it has been and is getting more and more ridiculous. Read more

Bless, Build, Bind!

The Church is about to move forward into a new season in North America. A season where things as they have been will no longer be; where we will move from a pastoral base of ministry to a prophetic base as seen and experienced in the early Church. This new season will see us listening more so as to receive direction, and even our daily agenda, from the Lord and not from the needs of the people. We will hear the voice of our God and simply obey what it is that He is saying to His Church. We will be directed prophetically, by revelation. Read more

Don’t Weigh – Obey!

I was reading the story of Peter and the disciples when they went back to fishing after the crucifixion and resurrection (found in John 21). In the story they fish all night and catch absolutely nothing. In the early morning light the Lord appears on the beach and asks them how it is going. They answer that they have caught absolutely nothing. He then tells them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat and there they will find some. Without a question they do as He said – instant obedience – and they catch a “multitude” so large it stretches the nets to beyond capacity. Soon afterwards, they launch out on their public ministry as they step out to lead the new Church spreading a new kind of fishing net to catch the attention of the world and to bring individuals into the Kingdom and the Church. It worked for the Church grew at an enormous rate.

The Real Power

It was a normal day and I was doing what is fairly routine in my life – studying God’s Word and writing a teaching for a speaking engagement later in the week. As I was preparing the Holy Spirit interrupted my study and spoke the following words to my heart …

“It is time for My people to become drunk with expectancy and anticipation, instead of staying sober with boredom and unbelief”

As I meditated upon these words the Spirit of Prophecy (Revelation 19:10) came upon me and spoke to my heart some words about what is about to happen in North America . Read more

Prophetic Word For The Praries – By Dennis Cramer

I have been preparing the prairies for an outpouring of My Spirit which will be nothing less than a flood of the supernatural. I will flood the prairies, I will flood the prairies, I will flood the prairies, with a wave of My supernatural power. Signs, wonders, healings and miracles will explode. But more than that, the Lord of the Church and the Lord of the prairies says, that I will flood the prairies with My glory, My glory, My glory, My glory, My manifest presence, says the Lord. My kabod, My weightiness shall flood the prairies, says the Lord. And you will see unprecedented things occur – we’ve never heard of that before, where is that in the Bible? Read more
