Kazakhstan – Trip and Information

Today I head to the airport and fly to Calgary, Frankfurt, Germany and then into Almaty-Alta in Kazakhstan to begin a little more than two weeks of ministry returning on December 1st.

It is not going to be an easy trip as the rules and regulations in Kazakhstan are quite severe and certainly limit what we can do and where we can do it. In fact, I received an email yesterday from one of the team members which commented that “My friend from Denmark who does mission work in Kazakhstan said that for them it’s safer to gather pastors and leaders for training events in Turkey or Ukraine and thus not be caught and still be able to do some local underground ministry.” So, we are heading into a troubled situation and could certainly benefit from your prayers. Tomorrow I board a plane here in my city – fly to Calgary, Alberta where I will have lunch. Then at supper time I will board another plane and fly to Munich, Germany. There I will have breakfast which will really be supper. Then quickly on another flight to Moscow, Russia where I will have supper which is really breakfast. My internal clock will be a bit confused by the jet lag and the 9 hours dofference in time. It is even worse coming home but that is another story. Read more

Ukraine Trip August 2009

Ukraine Mission Trip – Day One August 13, 2009

We have worked for many hours over Four days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) as time allowed and after three trips from the camp into the city of Feodosia we finally have the internet connected by way of Bluetooth and a new Ukrainian cell phone that has the right internal guts to be used as a modem to allow me to connect to the internet and emails no matter where I am … so we are now able to post current blogs regarding this trip to Ukraine as well as send answered emails (answered on the flights over) and receive email. Many thanks to Miroslav for service above and beyond the call of duty and several late nights…

The Blog…

Well, it is official. My body does not know what time it is and I’m not sure I do either.

Sinister Sites – Astana, Khazakhstan

Astana is the first capital being built in the 21st century and it perfectly represents where the world is headed. It is truly one man’s vision: Nursultan Nazarbayev, the president of Kazakhstan (yes Borat’s country, I know). Backed by billions of petrodollars, the city is being built from scratch in a remote and deserted area of the Asian steppes. The result is astonishing: a futuristic occult capital, embracing the New World Order while celebrating the most ancient religion known to man: Sun Worship. The city is still a huge construction site, but the buildings that are already completed already sum up Nazarbayev’s occult vision.

The Ten Commandments of the 21st Century

Order and structure provide simplicity. Growing up, no meant no. It was not maybe, or later. It was a simple negative, no, that’s it. Stop asking, we are done. The matter is closed. Further asking will lead to discipline. Parents were that way, teachers were that way, and law enforcement was that way. The Ten Commandments were the backbone of societal structure.

In our day of oozing mediocrity, middle of the road livng, stand for nothing, anything goes moral anarchy, the Ten Commandments might look like this:

The Next Small Step God Is About to Take in His Church

I believe that we are about to see a major shift going on in what we know as the Church world. This will be a direct response to changes in the spirit realm. This will all be a part of the “great falling away” and the “end-times harvest”.

In the mainline denominations I believe that we will soon see a “remnant” coming out of these fortresses of unbelief who desire more of God and want to move with God in these last days. They will not form new churches as has happened in the past but will join others in apostolic-prophetic churches where the apostles doctrine and the gifts of the holy Spirit are honored and received.    Read more

Stop Trying to be Relevant – Be SUPERNATURAL!

“How is the Church to respond to a postmodern, post-Christian culture that discounts the church as irrelevant, yet seeks spiritual connection, that is intrigued with Jesus, but doesn’t really know Him?”

Good question and one that I have been thinking about since I first read it a few weeks ago in a book I was working my way through. It is a question that deserves some thought.

Six Signs of a Struggling Church

As an apostle in our Network I visit many member churches as well as “friends” of the Network churches. Sometimes I am there to minister God’s Word through preaching and prophesying. Other times I am there helping the leaders determine the health of their church and how to turn it around so that it will begin to grow again.

These behind-the-scenes apostolic consultations usually look for six signs that a church is or soon will be struggling to stay alive, active, and relevant to the community through its outreach and evangelism strategy.

Sign #1: We don’t emphasize Bible study anymore: When God’s Word is the not the foundation and the driving force of a church then the church and the people who attend it will inevitably wind up going down the wrong road. A healthy church focuses on, teaches and proclaims the Word of God in each and every activity that they pursue. A lack of deep biblical teaching is one of the most glaring signs of a struggling church.

Principles for New Christians

1. Read the Word DAILY
A healthy baby has a healthy appetite. If you have truly been “born” of the Spirit of God, you will have a healthy appetite. The Bible says, “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,” (1 Peter 2:2). Feed yourself every day without fail. Job said, “I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food,” (Job 23:12). The more you eat, the quicker you will grow, and the less bruising you will have. Speed up the process and save yourself some pain — vow to read God’s Word every day, without fail. Say to yourself, “No Bible, no breakfast. No read, no feed.” Be like Job, and put your Bible before your belly. If you do that, God promises that you will be like a fruitful, strong and healthy tree (see Psalm 1). Each day, find somewhere quiet, and thoroughly soak your soul in the Word of God.
